Vilas Janve honored at Ujjain Senior Mime artist of Rajasthan, Vilas Janve was honored by Madhya Pradesh Natak Lokkala Akademy, Ujjain during the First National Mime Festival at Mahakavi Kalidas Akademy’s Sakul auditorium of June 20 and 21,2016. Mime exponents from, Kolkata, Mumbai, Udaipur, Bhopal, Khandwa and Ujjain showcased their varied repertoire of Mimes with their indigenes flavor. This Festival was inaugurated by Padmshree Shekhar Sen, noted musician, dramatist and Chairman, Sangeet Natak Akademy,New Delhi.
Senior Most Mime artiste and Director of Rajasthan Vilas Janve from Udaipur Presented ‘Kripan’ Mime based on the poetry of Gurudev Ravindra Nath Tagore’s Nobel Prize winning collection ‘GEETANJALI”. Vilas Janve show cased his exceptional caliber in portraying character of a miser beggar. Effective rendering of expressions supported by appropriate music and voice over made presentation memorable. Second day Vilas Janve presented hilarious mime ‘Cinema Cinema’ in which he portrayed a peculiar cine enthusiast right from buying ticket to watching film giving elaborate reactions to the scenes of the screen. This mime was an audio visual treat to spectators.
On the concluding ceremony Vilas Janve was honored and was given memento by Dr. Prabhat Kumar Bhattacharya, Founder and chairman Madhya Pradesh Natak Lokkala Akademy, Ujjain. Noted writers and critic Prakash Raghuvanshi , Ashok Vakt , Dr. Rajeev Shukla and mime artistes Jitendra Tatwal, Ratan Chakraborti, Sanjay Ramphal, Yogendra Chauhan were present during the ceremony.
