& finally comes to a happy end. Inferno, the 3-day cultural extravaganza of the College of Technology and Engineering, finally comes to a happy end. The last day was lined-up with solo, duet and group performances of dance and singing. A screening process that happened a few weeks ago ensured the best participation in the final event. All the events took place in the Mohan Lal Sukhadia University Auditorium and started from 9.30 a.m onwards. Colorful posters filled the place. Most participants were seen dressed in their ethnic best. Ms. NeelimaKhaitan, Head, CSR, Vedanta, was the chief guest of the occasion.
It was a diligently organized event with an exuberant and contagious spirit. Preparations for successful set-up began in the night itself. The anchor of the event, Kaushik Shukla, added a soul to it with his one-liners, jokes, and shayaris for the audience, besides creating an encouraging and vibrant atmosphere for the participants. After assigning code numbers to the participants and teams, the day began with solo song performances. With the help of a brilliant orchestra, some of the performances took the breaths away. This was followed by well- coordinated and meticulously choreographed solo dance performances. Next were duet dance and duet song competitions which witnessed a plethora of striking performances with interesting combinations, accompanied by thunderous applause that rented the audience-packed hall. After a refreshing lunch-break, group song and group dance performances took place, filling the air with music. All the events were judged by the faculty members of the college. After the dance and music performances, a wonderful magic show enthralled the audience. This was followed by a heart-stealing fashion show.
The festival culminated in a prize distribution ceremony in which, winners of the various events over the three days were awarded mementos and certificates. Also, the student with the highest OGPA from every branch was given a cash prize of Rs. 50000 each.
There were numerous hard-working hands behind the success of the event. Dr.Trilok Gupta, ADSW of the college was the main impetus behind it. He effectively delegated all the tasks by forming various committees to ensure successful coordination of all the events. Under his guidance worked the student union of the college, consisting of Sarthak Singh Rajawat (President), AtimuktMunet (General Secretary) and SajatBadiwal (Joint Secretary), who put all their strength into organizing the great gala gaiety. It provided them a great learning curve. A team of volunteers headed by three coordinators, Abhishek Jain, ShriyanshDadheech and Ashish Dhakar took care of all the behind-the-scenes activities.
"The fest did not only help in weaving memories for a lifetime, but it was also a golden opportunity for to socialize and hone our leadership skills," said one of the coordinators. The event ended with a vote of thanks by the College President.
