Five Star Rating awarded to Rampura Agucha Mine

Hindustan Zinc’s Rampura Agucha Mine received Five Star Rating for exemplary performance in implementation of Sustainable Development Framework in the 3rd National Conclave on Mines & Minerals, at a glittering ceremony in New Delhi on 20th March 2018. The prestigious award was presented by Hon’ble Union Minister of Mines - Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar.

The Sustainable Development Framework is a concept developed as a guiding principle for Indian mining industry at national level by the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, under the aegis of Indian Bureau of Mines encompassing the critical issues, vital for development of mining in India, as a contributor to inclusive growth, without adversely affecting the social, financial and environmental well-being, at present and also in the future, of fellow countrymen.

The conclave was organized by Ministry of Mines, Government of India were around 1043 mines participated from all over India. Rampura Agucha Mine has been rated ‘5-star’ category and received the award in the opening session. The Star rating system evaluates the performance of mines on technical, socio-economic, environmental parameters; final and progressive mine closure and adoption of international standards with the objective to bring standardization in mining operation and for minimizing impacts of mining.

On behalf of Hindustan Zinc, the award was received by Mr. L.S. Shekhawat - COO-Mines and Mr. Rajendra Dashora – Site President-Rampura Agucha Mine.
