Conference organised by ASSOCHAM Udaipur, Rajasthan.Rajasthan has emerged as a pre-eminent hub for the agro industry industry with a presence across the entire value addition chain from farm to fork, Shri Rajpal Singh Shekhawat, Hon’ble Minister for Industry, Government of Rajasthan said in the conference organized by ASSOCHAM in association with Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MOFPI)-Government of India, Udaipur Chamber Of Commerce & Industry (UCCI) & Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture & Technology. He further added that Food processing industry especially agro-horticultural based has been identified as a thrust area of development in the state. He said that to invite and sustain food processing industries in the state, regular supply of agricultural raw material is critical. Hence we must plan our future in such a way, that if any company sets up unit in Rajasthan, then our farmer must feed that unit uninterrupted and for years to come. He highlighted the industrial support and shaping the building blocks for the aspiring entrepreneurs and SMEs in Rajasthan.

Dr. Om S Tyagi, Sr Director, ASSOCHAM in his welcome address highlighted the benefits and opportunities the scheme is creating for farmers, entrepreneurs. He emphasized on the objectives of the scheme which are – to supplement agriculture, modernize processing and decrease Agri-Waste.


Shri Parag Gupta, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries, GOI, gave a holistic picture of the Indian Food Processing industry as well as the scope of Rajasthan to get itself in the forefront. He also spoke about Kisan SAMPADA Yojana and the implementation of the same will result in creation of modern infrastructure with efficient supply chain management from farm gate to consumers. He said that farm to the market facility is the key to success of agriculture activities and his ministry is committed to increase the income of the farmers, which is in line with the vision of our Prime Minister.

Shri Hansraj Choudhary, President,Udaipur Chamber of Commerce & Industry (UCCI)highlighted the immense potential which food processing holds in Udaipur and sharedthe contribution of the Agro Industries has made some significant progress in Rajasthan. Areas like - Agro & Horticulture Processing, Processing of Plantation Crops, organic farming as potential area in the promotion of industrial activities in the state of Rajastan. He emphasized on the recent development in Udaipur and how more can be done in order to enhance the position of Udaipur, He highlighted the contribution of Udaipur Chamber of Commerce and support provided by the chamber to budding entrepreneurs and agro industries.
